IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anne
Lewis
April 10, 1932 – February 25, 2026
Anne M. Lewis, 93, a longtime resident of Bethel, Connecticut, entered eternal life on February 25, 2026, and was welcomed into the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ. She entered her rest while living in New Port Richey, Florida.
Anne was born on April 10, 1932, in Brooklyn, New York, the youngest of five children of George and Anna (Bodmann) Hubbs. She grew up in New York and carried throughout her life the warmth, resilience, and practicality shaped by her family and early years.
On September 22, 1956, Anne married Treadwell M. Lewis II at St. Pancras Church in Glendale, New York. Together, they built a life grounded in devotion to family and community as they raised two sons.
Anne is survived by her sons, Rev. Treadwell Lewis III and his wife Carole, and Townsend Lewis; and by her grandchildren, Charissa, with her husband Nathanael Bass, and Treadwell IV, with his wife Lina Lewis-Obregoso. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews — Jeffrey, Eric, Rita, Grace, Thomas, Nan, and Barbara (and her husband, Phil) — and many other beloved relatives. She was predeceased by her husband, Treadwell M. Lewis II; her parents; and all four of her siblings: Gladys, Henry, Charles, and Arthur.
Anne built a distinguished 40-year career in real estate. She was known for her enthusiasm, empathy, and steady professionalism, guiding buyers and sellers with care throughout each transaction. Over the decades, she witnessed significant changes in the housing market and adapted to them, always approaching her work with dedication and integrity.
Anne worked in real estate into her late eighties, carrying herself with the energy and drive of someone decades younger. She was mindful not to let her age influence how clients perceived her, not out of vanity, but because she loved her work and knew she still had much to offer. With her trademark smile, she often said, “Age is just a state of mind,” a sentiment she carried throughout her career and daily life.
Anne worked as a broker associate with William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty, where she was recognized as a top producer, certified relocation specialist, and GRI graduate. She believed deeply in the importance of experience, market knowledge, and thoughtful pricing and marketing strategies.
Anne’s leadership extended beyond her brokerage work into the real estate community. She served on the Northern Fairfield County Association of Realtors Board of Directors in multiple roles—including director, secretary, vice president, and president in 1999—and again as president in 2018. She was named Realtor of the Year by the association in 1997. She also served for many years as a director of the Connecticut State Association of Realtors. She retired in 2020, having given so much to the work she loved.
Anne’s faith found expression in every community she called home. In Bethel, she was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Church. She was also a member of Trinity Christian Church in Shelton, Connecticut, where she served as vice president of its board. After settling in Florida, she became involved with First Baptist Church in New Port Richey, where she participated in worship and enjoyed fellowship with her church community.
Anne felt a special connection to the Irish community and was an active member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, serving in leadership roles as secretary, treasurer, vice president, president, and co-chair of the St. Patrick’s Ball Journal Committee.
After retiring, Anne made her home in New Port Richey, Florida, where she spent her remaining years. She enjoyed the quieter pace, the sunshine, and the special visits she shared with her grandchildren.
Anne’s life was defined by family, perseverance, faith, and a quiet strength that touched all who knew her. Her memory will be carried forward with love. In lieu of flowers, donations in Anne’s memory may be made to the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians. Aprivate service was held by her immediate family, who honored her life in an intimate gathering, surrounded by love and by cherished memories.
