CAROLE JEAN MURRAY (BROWN)

March 22, 1932 — June 30, 2025

Spring Hill

Carole Jean Murray, age 88, of Spring Hill, passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior on June 30, 2025.

Born on March 22, 1932, in Everett, Massachusetts Carole was the daughter of George and Dorothy Brown (Zwicker) and sister to Shirley (King) and Gerald.

She married the love of her life, George Murray, on April 13, 1958. Together they began a lifetime of love and devotion, starting with their honeymoon at Niagara Falls and continuing for nearly seven decades of shared faith, family, and service.

Carole was the loving mother of Ed (Hannah), Jean (Brian) Valliere, Wayne (Tonya), Gerriann (James) Samowski, and Sean (Serena). She was a proud grandmother to 15 grandchildren and great-grandmother to 7. She was also a lifelong mother figure to Atsuko, whom she welcomed into the family with love. She built a home filled with care and comfort, where the kitchen was always busy—cooking her kids’ favorites like schnitzel, spaghetti and meatballs, and fried dough.

Carole had a gift for gathering people, hosting celebrations for every occasion. She deeply cherished the lifelong friendships she shared with Nancy and Mike Carney, Tina and Buzz Mahoney, Jeanine and Dick Bentley, Eileen and Bill Seitz, and Chris and Harry Sagris.

A talented artist and craftswoman, Carole found joy in creating beauty through ceramics, painting, macramé and cake decorating.

Her creativity was matched only by her deep and abiding faith in Jesus Christ, the foundation of her life and the legacy she leaves behind. Her children and grandchildren walk in the light of that legacy, strengthened by her example of grace, compassion, and unwavering trust in God. She served faithfully in her church, leading Bible studies, Vacation Bible School and singing in the choir. She often quoted and lived out the words of Psalm 23, a passage that comforted her and now comforts those she leaves behind.

As the Apostle Paul wrote, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7), and Carole did just that.

She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all, knowing that today she is with Him in paradise.
