Christopher David Smith

Christopher David Smith, 42, passed away on August 28th, 2026, in Tampa, FL, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Chris was born on December 30, 1983, and throughout his life was deeply loved by his family and by the many people fortunate enough to know him.

He is survived by his beloved children, Dylan and Brynn; his parents, Betsy and Harry Smith; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Tony and Candice Smith and Ralph and Brandee Smith; his niece, Sadie Smith; as well as a loving extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many cherished friends.

Chris will be remembered for the way he embraced life, the love he had for his family, and the determination with which he continued to live fully even through the most difficult circumstances. Faced with a diagnosis that could have defined his remaining time, Chris chose instead to fill that time with life. He traveled, experienced new places, created memories with the people he loved, and continued looking forward.

His life was too short, but it was filled with love, adventure, family, and experiences that will remain with those who shared them. His greatest legacy lives on in his children, Dylan and Brynn, and in the hearts of his family and friends who will carry his memory with them always.

Perhaps Chris expressed his own outlook best in words that now hold even greater meaning:

“I’m happy. Congratulations to me. It’s gonna be a good day. I love you.”

The family will gather privately to celebrate Chris’s life and honor his memory.

Chris’s presence will be missed beyond measure, and his memory will remain a lasting part of all who loved him.
