In loving memory

September 1,1944 - September 3, 2026

Emma Louise Slepetz or Emy as she was known to most, was born in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, on September 1, 1944. She was one of four children born to Viola Helen and Roland Jernigan.

Emy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tom, with whom she shared 52 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and adventure; her sister, Darlene; and her grandson, Bryan.

She is survived by her sister Jackie and her husband, Matty Szakal of Pennsylvania, and her brother Bill and his wife, Carole Jernigan, of Florida; her three daughters and their husbands, Darlene and Stephen Kazes of Haverhill, Massachusetts, Debbie and Rich LeMarbre of Odessa, Florida, and Roni and Dean Davy of Clearwater, Florida; her grandchildren and their spouses, Jeremy and Jenny Aiken, Alec and Meghan Curtis, Madison and Jay Pyburn, Elijah and Molly Griffen, Maddi and Corbin Birdwell, Dakota Davy, and Dawson Davy, her four great-granddaughters, Sophie, Piper, Chloe, and Olivia; and many nieces and nephews she loved.

In addition to her family, Emy had a wonderful circle of friends spanning the globe who brought great joy and happiness to her life. Among her dearest friends, deserving of special mention, are Barbara, Joanie, Ida, Judi, and Louise.

Emy enjoyed cooking and baking. Her yellow cake with chocolate frosting was everyone’s favorite.

Emy was also a lover of animals Especially horses. In her final days, especially enjoyed spending time with her grand-furbabies.

Emy began studying the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1968 and, together with her husband, was baptized on January 2, 1971. For the past 55 years, she served as a faithful Christian in congregations throughout Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and Florida. Through Emy’s strong belief and faith in her God, Jehovah, she helped more than 50 family members and friends learn about Him.

One of the hopes Emy held especially close to her heart was the promised resurrection, when she looked forward to being reunited with her husband, grandson, sister, parents, and a large group of dear friends.

The family wishes to thank you for your love and support through these difficult days and looks forward to sharing the many memories of Emy and reflecting on the impact she had on all of our lives.

She truly was loved and will be missed.
