Keta Jo Stephen, 49, born Aug 24th, 1976 in Union City, TN, bravely won the battle against cancer on November 23rd, 2025 in Spring Hill, FL.
She is survived by her husband Timmothy and her daughter Ella, her mother Sherri (Jim) Seay, her sister Jenny Guye (Victor) Ambrosio, her brother Josh (Lauren) and many nieces and nephews; and her sister-in-law Suzanne (Al) Coe.
She is preceded by her daughter Jolie, her father Jerry “Mac”, her maternal grandparents Guy & May Bond, and fraternal grandparents Billy Rodgers & Mabel Little; also by her father-in-law J.D. and mother-in-law Debra Stephen, and her brother-in-law Jerry “Jay” Stephen.
Keta graduated Obion County Central High School in 1995 and was a part of the colorguard team. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church during her years in Tennessee. Keta worked at Wal-Mart for over 20 years, serving as a manager between the 2 states she called home. She and Tim were married on Feb 17th, 2001. They welcomed their first daughter, Ella, on June 30th, 2009, and their second daughter, Jolie, was welcomed into heaven on her birthdate of November 28th, 2015.
She gave off an infectious joy and had the tendency to command a room with her laughter. Her sense of humor always invited a presence and she made herself a desirable friend to have. She was constantly worried about everyone else’s welfare above her own, even in her last days. She was always sarcastic and always full of personality.
She passed peacefully surrounded by her family. Her celebration of life will be held at her home church, Living Word Church in New Port Richey, Florida, on December 13th, 2025 at 2:00 PM.
Original poem written for Keta Stephen by Lauren Rodgers
Today, you made your way to glory
And you saw our Jesus face to face
You left us all with quite a story
And memories we can never erase
Our hearts feel such a void without you here
But we know you wouldn’t trade it
For you are finally whole and totally healed
We rejoice because you made it
And I imagine the joy as you entered in
All your loved ones greeting you there
What a reunion it must have been
Oh what joy you all have shared
So until we see you there on the other side
We will cherish every memory you gave us
And God will keep track of the tears we cry Even though we know that you’re with Jesus
Make sure you meet us at heavens gate When that day will be ours to share I know for sure it won’t be long
I promised you we will all be there
