Max Anton Zimmerman, age 71, of Zephyrhills, FL passed away on November 5, 2025. Max is survived by his daughter Sona, his sisters Gretchen and Judith, his beloved cousin Mark, other extended family members, and his many friends. Max was preceded in death by his parents, Max George and Louise Teresa Zimmerman (nee Fuss).
Max was born the youngest child of three in Linz, Austria in the military family of USAF Lt Col Max G. Zimmerman. After years of assignments overseas, the family returned stateside and settled in Fairborn, Ohio. Max graduated college in Dayton, Ohio majoring in Communication Arts with a keen interest in news writing, production, and design. His career as a journalist and a copy editor spanned several decades across national and local publications including The Washington Times, Dayton Daily News, Delaware State News, and Pasco News, among others. Max touched the minds and hearts of many seasoned and aspiring professionals in the newspaper industry.
Over the past 16 years, Max resided in Florida where he enjoyed the sun, the beach, Rolling Stones’ concerts whenever they performed in Florida, and last, but not the least, the simple pleasures of being with his family and his beloved dog, Emerald. Max passed away after a fierce battle with leukemia and is greatly missed by his loved ones.
