Richard Dale Bunner of Dade City Florida passed away May 9, 2026. He was born September 13, 1950 in Washington Pennsylvania to Delbert and Margaret (Sawchuck) Bunner.

He attended Elmira Free Academy and B.O.C.E.S. Vocational Tech graduating in 1968 with a Certificate in Technical Mechanical Design.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1970-1972 and the reserves until 1976. He was honorably discharged.

He moved to Santa Cruz California in 1976. There he worked at Thomas J. Lipton until 1985 when he moved to Tampa, Florida where he was a painting contractor.

Rich enjoyed golf, music, guitar playing, song writing, and reading. Most of all he loved his children, grandchildren, and family.

Rich is survived by his son Travis (Christina), daughter Jamie (Paul) Wernicke, granddaughters: Hannah, Madalynn, Aubrey, and Emma, mother Peggy, brother Dan (Onalee), sisters: Ellen Glass and Kathy (Rick) Paggio, and many nieces and nephews. 

He will placed with Military Honors at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL on Friday May 22nd, 2026 at 10:00 AM.
