Ronnie passed peacefully to his heavenly home on November 12, 2025. After being together for over 50 years, Kathy and Ronnie had just celebrated their 52nd Wedding Anniversary just a few weeks ago along with their two sons, Gerald and Brandon. It is hard to realize he is no longer here!
Ronnie was a native of New Orleans and the only child of Elsie Mary Wenzel Bordelon and Roy Bordelon, who preceded him in death. He entered the Marine Corps in June 1967, fought in Vietnam, and served his country honorably until his discharge from active duty in May 1971. He is survived by his spouse, Kathleen Weiss Bordelon, two sons – Brandon Christopher Bordelon and Gerald Batiste Bordelon, and his daughter-in-law Anna Denise Reeves Bordelon, grandchildren Katie Lynn Bordelon Smith (spouse -Tommie Justin Smith, Sr.), Jacob Batiste Bordelon, Matthew Lee Bordelon, James Bryant (spouse- Jenna Claire Lee Bryant), Jimmy Bryant, and Jenna Bryant and great-grandchildren – Tommie Justin Smith, Jr., Tatum Jace Smith, Tinslee Julia Delores Smith and Baylor Bryant. He was also close to his two sisters-in-law, Brenda Waltzer (Herman Waltzer, Jr., deceased) and Arleen Loga and brother-in-law (Hugo Loga) and their families.
Ronnie retired from General Electric after twenty-seven years of service. Throughout his adult life, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing darts, and listening to music, especially local New Orleans artists. He loved having a cocktail and sharing a meal (especially one he prepared).
Family was very important to him; so, family, friends, and brothers in arms became extended family and many remained in his life until his passing.
Please join us with a Celebration of Life in his honor to be held in St. Bernard Parish on December 13, 2025 from 11am to 2 pm at:
